Neivi Martínez Shines Again at Vienna’s Silvesterpfad: A New Year in Operetta, Unity, and Joy

Vienna welcomed the New Year once again with music, emotion, and that unmistakable festive magic that only this city can create. This year, the celebration was made even more special by the presence of internationally active Mexican-Austrian-German soprano Neivi Martínez, who performed a vibrant selection of Viennese operetta highlights at the famous Wiener Silvesterpfad, in front of the iconic St. Stephen’s Cathedral (Stephansdom).

For Amadeus Artists, this performance was more than just another appearance on stage — it was a powerful symbol of cultural exchange, artistic continuity, and community. Thousands gathered in the heart of Vienna to greet the new year together, and through music, the moment became shared, inclusive, and deeply alive.

A Celebration of Viennese Tradition — With an International Heart

Being part of one of Vienna’s most beloved cultural New Year’s traditions is an honor, and also a meaningful responsibility: representing the spirit of operetta — a genre that belongs to the city’s identity — while welcoming audiences from all around the world.

Neivi’s performance took place during the official New Year’s Gala at Stephansplatz, where she presented well-known operetta repertoire beloved by Viennese and international audiences alike.

Among the highlights performed were:

  • Meine Lippen, sie küssen so heiß

  • Heja, in den Bergen

  • Vilja-Lied

  • Lippen schweigen

  • Wiener Blut

Neivi was accompanied by the orchestra of Neue Operette Wien, under the direction of Maestro László Gyüker, alongside outstanding soloists Alexander M. Helmer, Lena Stöckele, and Wolfgang Veit.

A Night of Applause, Warmth, and Shared Humanity

Despite the challenging winter weather, the audience response was enthusiastic and deeply moving. Applause, joy, and that unique collective celebration that defines the Silvesterpfad filled the square — reminding us that music can truly bring people together, regardless of age, background, or nationality.

As Neivi shared after the performance, the evening once again proved that classical music can be entertaining, approachable, and accessible for everyone — a language of joy that unites.

A Continued Presence, A Growing Mission

This was Neivi Martínez’ second successful participation at the Wiener Silvesterpfad, confirming her artistic presence at one of Vienna’s most important public cultural celebrations. More than that, it reinforces her role as a musical ambassador who connects European classical tradition with an open, modern, and inclusive perspective.

Neivi is known for her expressive voice, versatility, and strong stage presence, with leading roles across the operatic repertoire such as Lucia, Gilda, Adina, and Violetta — among many others — performed on prestigious stages and festivals internationally.
